Turkey-Syria Earthquake Emergency Appeal
On 6th Feb 2023 at 4.17am local time, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake caused widespread devastation across Turkey and Syria. Thousands of buildings collapsed while people slept, thousands lost their lives and countless people were injured.
The last time a quake of this magnitude shook Turkey was in 1939 when close to 33,000 people lost their lives and more recently in 1999 when 17,000 people lost their lives.
