Aya was a beautiful 12 year old girl who was engulfed in flames when a domestic gas canister at her home exploded. For four years she suffered the scorching heat of the blazing sun with no air conditioning to cool her burns, and was unable to speak due to burnt skin obscuring her mouth. Her entire body was covered in burns and she was in a lot of pain as she couldn’t afford pain relief or medical treatment. As soon as her case came to our attention, we launched an appeal, and thanks to many generous donors, we were able to send her to a specialist. Aya has now had a series of successful operations and after four years she is now able to speak again! We visited her in Easter 2016 and we were overjoyed to see her progress and recovery. Can you imagine how thankful Aya is? She is over the moon as she has the gift of speech again!
Tayyibah was only 4 years old when a boiling hot pot of tea fell on her and scalded her to the extent that her fingers became permanently crooked and she had lost all normal movement in her fingers. Her hands and arms had serious burns. She suffered in unimaginable ways for three years. When we came to learn of her misfortune, we launched an appeal, and thanks to many generous donors, we were able to send her to a specialist. Tayyibah has now had a series of successful operations and she is now able to move her fingers again! This 4 year old now has a chance at life thanks to her loving donors.
