DOCTOR
Shabbir is a GP and an acupuncturist. He has a keen interest in sports medicine and cardiology. Having taught medical students and junior doctors, Shabbir aspires to take a leading role in medical education in his locality.
It was an honour for me to be involved with A World Without Barriers as a voluntary Doctor. The trip opened my eyes to the levels of poverty and sickness that exists in Iraq. As part of this trip we worked in refugee camps and with orphans. On a typical day each doctor could easily see well over a hundred patients and we would be left to deal with conditions which we’ve never seen before. I have never in all my years felt the sense of satisfaction and reward that I did on this trip. I look forward to being an integral part of A World Without Barriers Medics team for many years to come
